In a gritty small town during the 1980’s deep recession lives 15-year-old Alice and her mother, Diane, a larger-than-life former actress whose fame has passed her by.
Although beaming with charisma, Diane has been caught in a vicious cycle of depression clinging to her daughter and their fantasy of a better life.
They have hit bottom moving into a dangerous neighborhood, saddled with insurmountable money troubles, when Alice is faced with a harrowing decision.
