“..marked by great acting, this intensely personal look at the cost of modern day war should strike a chord with today’s audiences as the political season heats up over Iraq. Not as war driven as other anti-war films like Platoon, Purple Heart instead focuses on the aftermath of war. Much better than Rendition this film should find a solid audience on DVD.”
Christopher Null  Film.com

“A riveting account of the life of a sniper in today’s modern army, this film is helped by a great performance from Demetrius Navarro and William Sadler. Rounded out by a cast of recognizable faces, Purple Heart marks the directing debut of James Cameron Special Effects whiz William Birrell. Well done, realistic and a solid film.”

**** Out Of *****

Purple Heart is not only a powerful film with a stellar cast and great direction but it’s also a film that is thought-provoking and shocking at the same time. I highly recommend seeing this film and credit has to go to Director William Birrell for taking on such a daring subject matter.
